Increases data center space by expanding to 5,000 square feet.

Internet Facilitators Limited, a business class data centre provider, today announced that it has expanded its Manchester data centre network with an additional 5,000 sq ft of premium colocation space.

The company says that its expansion on the ground floor of Reynolds House, where the company already occupies over 17,000 sq ft, will be its second in the last twelve months. It avers that with further large scale expansion news expected in the next few months, this will ensure ever increasing demand will continue to be met by IFL with quality supply through its continued investment in new data centres.

In order to bring the new expansion space into service, the comapny articulates that it will build a second on-site energy centre with a new 1MVA power supply, diesel generators and n+1 UPS system. Also, state of the art air conditioning will be deployed to ensure the lowest possible Energy Efficiency Ratio - a measure of how much additional electricity is used beyond that needed for servers. An additional 150 racks will be made available with an expected average power usage of 4.5KW per rack up to a maximum of 8KW per rack, adds the company.

The company further explains that its data centres offer connectivity solutions from a wide range of Tier 1 network providers including BT, Cogent, NTL, NWIX and THUS all of whom have multiple resilient routes into the building. Also, their data centre network is connected to other data centres in the region through dedicated fibre networks such as MCIX & NWIX. London based carriers also provide low cost backhaul to data centres located in the nation's capital, claims the company. It says that the increasing number of carriers and IP Transit providers continues to drive the cost of connectivity downwards and ensure IFL customers are located on the backbone of the region's internet.

Matthew Edgley, IFL Sales Manager comments, "Much of our continued success can be attributed to the growth of our existing partners and customer base. Recognition of this drives our commitment to provide a continuous supply of high quality rack space to facilitate their future growth."

"We are attracting record numbers of new customers as an increasing number of organisations realise the advantages of outsourcing their data centre whilst retaining their in-house technical staff and expertise. The company is in outstanding health with sales records being broken every quarter since 2006. The very strength of the sales pipeline proves demand for quality colocation space and absolutely necessitates our continued multi-million pound investment in expansion," added Edgley.

Provides data flow and VoIP management for small and mid-sized businesses deploying unified communications.

Packet Island, Inc., a provider of Voice-Data Network Management solutions, today announced the release of an enterprise-lite version of PacketSmart, a carrier-class VoIP-Data lifecycle management solution. The company states that with this new product release, it now offers small and mid-sized enterprise customers a solution that leverages real-time flow-based analysis to assess and manage branch office VoIP+Data networks.

The company avers that PacketSmart Enterprise-Lite Platform comes with software pre-installed on a Dell server and a set of five 4"x5" micro-appliances. The micro-appliances function as sniffers and double up as VoIP call generators for assessment purposes, it says.

It claims that this solution is targeted to IT administrators of small and mid-sized companies deploying VoIP for a handful of branch offices using mixed network topologies and multiple ISP WANs. IT administrators can use the solution to perform the following functions:

  • Pre-assess data networks for VoIP readiness
  • Verify LAN/WAN QoS design based on TOS or Diffserv
  • Monitor live VoIP calls (SIP-based) on a 24x7 basis
  • Troubleshoot VoIP signaling issues
  • Remote packet capture with Ethereal/Wireshark compatibility
  • Monitor Top-10 data flows on a 24x7 basis
  • Generate a variety of on-demand reports to summarize SLAs
"Customers are increasingly realizing that real-time flow-based analysis is a must-have to effectively manage the multi-site converged media networks of today. Traditional SNMP-based solutions are great at monitoring servers and network devices, but fall short when managing converged media. As VoIP adoption hits the mainstream, what enterprises need is a comprehensive product that can help them manage the lifecycle of their converged media networks that go beyond SNMP monitoring. With PacketSmart-Lite, we are offering the combined functionalities of a VoIP assessment tool, VoIP monitoring tool, VoIP verification tool, Remote packet capture tool, Traffic flow monitor, and Top-N flow monitor, all in one package. Bought as separate vendor tools, these capabilities would cost tens of thousands of dollars. However, with our all-inclusive PacketSmart-Lite package, customers get a complete package for under $8K", said Praveen Kumar, CEO of Packet Island, Inc.

The company claims that the transactions bring its total colocation space to approximately 106,000 square feet.

He continued, "With our additional square footage, we can accommodate businesses of all sizes as they grow and expand." The company's customer base includes privately-held companies such as Pinnacle Technical Resources Inc., Womack Machine & Supply Co., and First Choice Emergency Room.

SharePoint360 Launches SharePoint360 Web

Posted by THE GANDHIS | 8:07 PM | 0 comments »

New internet solution to demonstrate how non-technical personnel can build full-featured web sites in a few hours at a minimal monthly cost.

SharePoint360 LLC, a San Diego-based SharePoint hosting and consulting firm and Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, today announced that it has launched SharePoint360 Web.

SharePoint360 Web is a hosted solution utilizing the SharePoint Web-based collaboration and document management platform. Now, SharePoint360 LLC is taking advantage of its SharePoint expertise to allow organizations to produce and maintain their own Web sites in a matter of hours, with built-in Web 2.0 features such as blogs, calendars, alerts, RSS feeds, wikis and search capabilities. Any existing staff member can utilize the service without the need for a webmaster, an FTP site, Web design software or even entry-level programming skills, claims the company.

The company avers that the use of the service begins with selection of a domain. Customers can then choose to produce a Web site that is as basic or as sophisticated as they want. Although a standard template can be used at the onset for instant deployment, businesses can customize their sites to suit specific requirements, whether that means embedding Google Analytics, creating image libraries or adding Flash animation or collaboration capabilities. Companies can explore even more creative options by using SharePoint Designer, Microsoft's latest Web design software.

The company further states, after a customer's initial Web site is up and running, non-technical users can continue to manage the system, performing ongoing updates in seconds. Designated administrators simply sign in and post documents in real time. In addition, new pages can be created and added in minutes, and images can be uploaded quickly using an intuitive SharePoint360 Photo Webpart.

"The old model of having an outside design firm controlling your site and your ongoing updates is antiquated, inefficient and can be very frustrating and costly," said Paul West, one of the principals for SharePoint360 LLC. "With SharePoint360 Web, we demystify the design and maintenance process so that the customer is in complete command of one of the most important aspects of their business -- their Web site.

"SharePoint360 Web is a great entry point into SharePoint," said Cliff Smeed, co-founder/principal for SharePoint360 LLC. "Its user friendly interface and customizable features simply trump the traditional, static web site model. Plus, once you have been exposed to the Internet version of SharePoint, you begin to appreciate all the benefits the product offers for internal purposes as well. Creating intranet and extranet portals can be done with the same level of ease, but with significantly more horsepower, allowing employees, partners, and customers to contribute and have a much richer collaborative experience."

Provides every dedicated server customer with SmarterMail, SmarterStats and SmarterTrack along with a 50 user permanent software license.

Enterhost, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and provider of Windows-only web hosting, today announced that it has renewed its partnership with SmarterTools, an information technology management software company, to provide business communication software for its dedicated server clients.

The company states that the SmarterTools suite includes:

  • SmarterMail 5.X - an ASP.NET AJAX-based mail server
  • SmarterStats 3.X - a site analytics application and
  • SmarterTrack 3.X - a helpdesk application designed for customer service departments
The company claims that as a result of the partnership, every client who purchases a dedicated server from it will automatically receive all three applications at no charge, and will own a 50-user permanent software license in their own name.

It further explains that SmarterMail 5.X introduces an entirely new AJAX-driven Web interface, bringing desktop application performance to the Web. Its newest features include improved calendaring, throttling, notification and advanced server reporting. SmarterStats 3.X gives users detailed web analytics in a web interface that includes a full complement of standard and custom reports, data mining, geographic mapping and more. SmarterTrack 3.X is a ticketing system that also includes live chat, cost analysis, data mining, a knowledge base and full reporting analytics.

"Our relationship with SmarterTools has provided our customers with a solid, feature rich set of applications," said Enterhost President Kevin R. Valadez. "This is the fourth year we've committed to doing business with SmarterTools and we continue to have great confidence in SmarterTools' ability to meet our clients' requirements."

Partnership allows customers of both companies with more choices to meet their marketing and support needs.

DemoWolf, a provider of flash tutorials for the web hosting industry, today announced a new partnership with VoiceWalk, a production company dedicated to creating high-impact demos. The company says that it will be working closely with VoiceWalk to provide a complete suite of custom demo options to each of their clients.

The company claims that it is a producer of web hosting flash support tutorials, many of which are pre-produced and only need to be re-branded for the purchasing hosting company. However it also produces custom demos for those cases where their clients have custom applications for which they want tutorials.

The company states that VoiceWalk produces custom demos as well as commercial-quality marketing demos. It adds that its partnership with VoiceWalk will bring a new service to each of DemoWolf and VoiceWalk's clients. VoiceWalk's clients will now have a cheaper alternative when they want simple demonstrations for their applications, whereas DemoWolf clients will have access to higher-end demo solutions for those cases when they want commercial-grade marketing demos.

"We are excited to be bringing VoiceWalk's expertise to our customers" says Rob Moore, president of DemoWolf. "Having this high-end alternative for our customers allows us to focus on what we're good at, and provides our customers with more choices. Additionally, it allows us to grow our custom demo business with the additional business resulting from this partnership. Truly a win-win for both VoiceWalk and ourselves."

"We are delighted to be moving forward with Demowolf as a Voicewalk partner" says Saul Ives, President of VoiceWalk. "With Demowolf we will be able to provide a lower cost support solution for our clients. Giving them a full range of options to meet all their Marketing and Support needs."

Privacyware, a provider of web application security, intrusion prevention and security data analytics software, today announced the release of the latest version of ThreatSentry, a software-based IIS web application firewall and intrusion revention solution. The company says that in response to customer and general market demand for more effective protection against Structured Query Language injection, cross-site scripting and other web application and database related attacks, it has expanded ThreatSentry's parameter parsing and URL query string inspection capabilities at the web application firewall and behavioral analysis layers.

The company states that ThreatSentry, an ISAPI filter hosted in MMC, is comprised of a web application firewall and behavior-based intrusion prevention component founded on specialized artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies specifically designed to address internal and external unauthorized system access and cyber-criminal threats on Web servers utilizing Microsoft Internet Information Services. It explains that IIS has grown in popularity since its introduction and while it is well-regarded for its ease of use and range of features, it is frequently targeted by hackers due to a variety of server and database vulnerabilities and the inherently open nature of many Web applications, many of which manage sensitive information such as credit card numbers, passwords, or other private data.

"In recent months, we've witnessed the attack landscape expand exponentially", said Privacyware CEO, Greg Salvato. "This problem is largely a result of the swift adoption of automated tools now in common use by hackers to rapidly identify vulnerable websites and servers. More urgent, however, is the evolving sophistication of the evasion techniques used which can render ineffective traditional rules-based technologies."

"In response the alarming rise in frequency of SQL-based attacks, we've expanded ThreatSentry's Parameter parsing and URL Query String inspection capabilities at the Web Application Firewall layer,” said Privacyware CTO, Konstantin Malkov. "In addition, we've enhanced ThreatSentry's cognitive components, which are capable of detecting similarities to known malicious patterns or revealing behavioral deviations among normal traffic, to deliver improved protection against known or new SQL Injection and other threats to the web infrastructure."
